Watch with friends, in the same launcher
Stream
Watch your favorite streamers next to your library — no second app, no second login. Costream surfaces and the launcher-wide media session redesign are on the roadmap.
What it actually does
- Watch your favorite streamers in the launcher
- Stream chat with realtime presence
- Costream is on the roadmap
- Webview-isolated playback for Twitch / YouTube
Surfaces
Stream browse
LiveDiscover streams.
Stream view
LiveWatch a stream.
Stream chat
LiveRealtime chat with viewers.
Costream
ComingWatch with friends as a first-class surface.
Embedded playback
Twitch, YouTube, and HLS streams render in isolated webviews. DRM stays inside the host webview; the launcher doesn't try to be a media player.
On Windows the host is webview_windows. On future mobile platforms the host is webview_flutter. The streaming surface itself — chat, viewers list, costream state — runs as native Flutter and threads into the realtime substrate.
Costream is coming
ComingWatching with friends as a first-class surface — co-presence in the same stream view, group chat, audio coordination.
See /roadmap for the costream stage plan.
Live media session
ComingA launcher-wide media session — modes for inline, floating, and mini playback — is in design.
Today, streams open in the stream view. The "Live" substrate that lets a stream follow you around the launcher is currently design-stage. Read the substrate map on /platform/architecture.
